How Do You Tape Bubble Wrap So It Stays Secure and Is Easy to Open?<\/h1>\n

To make bubble wrap easier to open, secure the overlapping material with tape and leave a clearly identifiable starting point for removal. Keep the tape off the product itself, and test the finished wrap to make sure it stays in place during normal packing and handling.<\/p>\n

Easy opening starts with a suitable wrapping method. Adding more tape cannot always solve a piece of bubble wrap that is too short, poorly positioned or difficult to fold.<\/p>\n

Start With the Right Amount of Bubble Wrap<\/h2>\n

Before applying tape, check that the bubble wrap covers the areas that need protection and overlaps enough to hold its shape.<\/p>\n

If the sheet is too small, workers may need several strips of tape to pull the edges together. If it is unnecessarily large, excess folds can make the package harder to open.<\/p>\n

For repeat orders, establish a wrapping method for each product. Record the material dimensions, folding method and tape placement together.<\/p>\n

Apply Tape to the Bubble Wrap, Away From the Product<\/h2>\n

Position the tape across the overlapping bubble wrap so it holds the material together.<\/p>\n

Avoid attaching tape directly to the product, printed retail box or decorative surface unless the packaging has been designed and tested for that purpose. Removing adhesive may lift a label, mark a surface or damage the finish.<\/p>\n

Also check that tape cannot reach the product through a gap in the wrapping.<\/p>\n

The aim is to secure the protective material while allowing the customer to remove it separately.<\/p>\n

Leave a Clear Starting Point for Opening<\/h2>\n

A customer should be able to identify where to begin without searching through several layers of tape.<\/p>\n

One option is to fold back a small section at the end of the tape strip to create a non-sticky pull tab. This is an option for the inner bubble wrapping, subject to testing.<\/p>\n

The tab must not reduce the bonded area so much that the wrap loosens. Keep it accessible, and check that it does not snag during the remaining packing steps.<\/p>\n

A pull tab on inner cushioning also does not replace the required closure method for the outer shipping carton or mailer.<\/p>\n

Avoid Unnecessary Tape in Multiple Directions<\/h2>\n

Wrapping tape around the package repeatedly may make removal difficult without improving the parts of the wrap that actually need securing.<\/p>\n
